Library

The Cambridge Group for the History of Population and Social Structure has a specialist research library on demographic history, containing over 3,300 books. It also holds large quantities of historical demographic data in machine-readable form and a unique collection of photocopied and microfilmed unpublished census documents from England and elsewhere, primarily relating to the period before 1800.

Visiting the Library

The library is open to members of the Cambridge Group and to visiting students and researchers. Visits to view the library collection by other researchers are possible by arrangement. Contact us for more details.

Library catalogue

Thanks to a grant from the Economic History Society, we have been able to digitise the Cambridge Group's library catalogue.

A copy of the library catalogue is available to download. A list of theses and unpublished works is also available.
