Metadata

A data dictionary file listing what variables are available by census year and country is available. Users unfamiliar with the content and questions asked in the nineteenth and early twentieth century British censuses should consult this.

All the following lookup tables for coded variables are held as Excel spreadsheets and are stored in the Cambridge University repository. They are each supplied with a DOI which users should quote when publishing :
